Have you ever walked into an open house and the music sounded like it was straight out of a department store? Ya – that’s not the vibe we’re going for.
Setting the tone for your open house should be just as important as showing the house.
If it’s too quiet it could feel a little eerie when a buyer walks in – which could ultimately make them feel uncomfortable and rush to leave. Or if the buyer is with a group they may be hesitant to discuss their thoughts openly.
Oppositely, if the music is too loud or offensive it could be off-putting.
Here Are Some Tips For Setting The Right Vibe:
#1 Bring your bluetooth speaker and pair it to your laptop or iPad. The reason I suggest these and not your iPhone is because… well… you know how it goes when you get a call. The music stops and it gets super quiet. Plus you might need to use your phone.
#2 Put the speaker out of sight. It’s meant to be used, not showcased.
#3 Turn the volume up – but not up up. The guests are here to view a house, not attend a house party.
The Takeaway:
The goal is to create an inviting atmosphere, without being distracting. The background music should compliment the experience, not take it over.
Here’s my go-to chill – but cool, playlist.
